FMA Dual PowerLab 8x2

I knew this charger would be great. This review is more about PRC customer service. My brand new FMA Dual PowerLab 8x2 arrived in perfect condition.... that is except for the missing charge cables, balancing cables, and the balancing boards. One call to PRC and the missing parts were on their way the same day. The truth is that any company can make a mistake; it's how the mistake is handled that matters. PRC has great customer service. Oh, by the way, when I made the phone call they answered on the second ring.

Before getting this charger my packs would take forever to balance. Now my 700 packs are charged in about 15 minutes. I had looked at the Powerlab duel several times before trying to decide which charger get. When I saw they had cut the price it was a no brainer. The charger is easy to use and the power is awesome. Now I can get in the air quick.

Charger has tons of options to select. Regenerative charging is amazing and can dump a large lipo back into my leisure battery

The bump controller interfaces smoothly and allows charge setting to be stored. Endless possibilities open up with the tag system. The controller also gives more information about the pack

Only downside is the FMA balancer cabling - Progressiverc came to the rescue and supplied adaptor cables to interface with multi charge boards

I got this charger for my birthday, just two days before a fun fly. I used it continuously throughout the event, and it did not miss a beat. Charge times on 5000mAh 6s packs were amazing, and I was able to fly my Gaui X7 back to back all day long. The PL8X2 is a fantastic charger, and I recommend it to anyone who wants quality, value and solid performance from their charging station.

I am quite impressed at the power output of his charger, for sure. It delivers full output, up to a whopping 40 amps on up to eight cells.

The only problems I have had with it are the solder joints on the connectors. The positive lead for one of the units wasn't even properly soldered. It wiggled out while I was giving it a test run. -1 star for the bad solder joints. -1 star for value, because I had to replace the badly soldered connector myself.

Another foreseeable problem is the overlay on the faceplate. It's just a sticker. It could possibly cause problems in the future, along with the membrane buttons, but that's just speculation.
